Appellate Arguments

In March 2013, Cynthia Lasher of Norris Choplin Schroeder, LLP, argued before both the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Indiana Supreme Court.  On March 19, 2013, Ms. Lasher argued at the Indiana Court of Appeals in support of a client who had obtained monetary and injunctive relief on a disability discrimination and retaliation claim against a home school group, which also involved issues under the Religion Free Exercise and Free Association clauses of the First Amendment.  On March 28, 2013, Ms. Lasher argued at the Indiana Supreme Court for the application of common law immunity to Veolia Water Indianapolis, LLC, which had been sued by a property insurer claiming that frozen fire hydrants caused a delay in putting out a restaurant fire.  Both courts have taken these cases under advisement, and opinions have not yet been issued.
